On the first day of construction in 2013, a worker was buried after a dry stone wall collapsed in the Briey "terraces." Despite warning of the dangers of the maneuver, he ultimately carried out the order. Twelve years after the incident, the Briey court is attempting to shed light on this tragedy.

The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. on February 20, 2013, the first day of construction. The team sent by Chanzy Pardoux, a subsidiary of Vinci Construction, was working to build a pedestrian path on the "terraces" site in Briey.

An engineer came on February 2nd to conduct a site inspection. In his report, he recommended carrying out the work in several phases to preserve the strength of the dry stone wall, which was showing weaknesses.
